DAFO FORREX SYSTEM SAVES REACH STACKER AT APM TERMINALS LIBERIA

On the 25th of November 2016 a reach stacker in the APM Terminal in Monrovia Liberia had a malfunction which led to the machine catching alight. The issue occurred when the machines main hydraulic hose burst and begun spraying oil onto the turbocharger which immediately ignited, luckily the machine had a DAFO wet chemical system installed which autonomously activated and extinguished the fire . The DAFO system was so successful that no damage to the machine could be found and once the hydraulic pipe was fixed the machine was returned to full functionality. APM Terminals were delighted with the effectiveness of the DAFO system and will be looking to install the system on all machines at their terminal.
